Let's find out how to remove mold with Energetic Decontaminant
Is there a surface on your boat affected by mold and you're looking for a solution? Mafra's Energetic Decontaminant will take care of removing the mold! Today we find out how to do it, of course together with our own Carlo Luongo!
Unfortunately, it is well known, mold is one of the worst companions for us boaters. Looking for a solution too? Mafra 's Energetic Decontaminant helps us solve the formation of fungal colonies on surfaces--in a nutshell, it helps us remove mold! Let's see how, with the help of Carlo Luongo.
Mold is a constant enemy of board surfaces, and it is not always possible to eradicate it completely. Regardless of the cause, when we have a surface affected by mold, the best thing to do is to try to remove it as soon as possible. For this, Mafra comes to our aid with Energetic Decontaminant, afast-acting product that is safe on any surface and designed specifically to remove mold.
The Energetic Decontaminant by Mafra is ideal for solving the problems generated by incorrect storage and subsequent formation due to residual moisture. The Energetic Decontaminant, available in the 500ml size, removes mildew from inflatable boats and tenders made of PVC, Hypalon, Neoprene as well as awnings, cushions, life jackets etc.

How to Use Energetic Decontaminate
-
1st step:
The first thing to do is to thoroughly clean the surface of general dirt residues because, in order to work, the Energetic Decontaminant must work in direct contact with the mold. Therefore, depending on the surface, we at Mafra recommend that you use Sharky o Shelly.

-
2 steps:
Apply Energetic Decontaminant on a sponge or directly with the supplied trigger. Carry out a mechanical action on the surface to remove the mold layer.
-
3rd step:
Allow the product to work until the mold is removed. If the product dries out, apply it again. The surface must be constantly "wet" with Decontaminant.
-
4th step:
Rinse thoroughly.
-
Step 5:
Apply a protective product such as Sealy o Marly, to prevent the formation of new mold.

What are you waiting for?
Some practical arrangements:
If you notice a color change toward pink after applying the product to the tubular, no problem! This phenomenon could be related to inadequate rinsing when washing the dinghy to prepare the surface. In this case, it will be sufficient to carry out the cleaning again with Shelly and then apply Energetic Decontaminant.
We also remind you that mold cannot always be removed completely--especiallyon tubulars, it tends to reform. This can happen if the formation of the fungal colony occurs inside the inner tube-a problem that will recur cyclically since you cannot get the cleaner to work inside the tubular.
Carlo Luongo's unfailing final advice
- Always use all skin and eye precautions.
- Although the decontaminant is designed to create no side effects, it is always best to do a preemptive test in a hidden spot to know exactly when the action time and any undesirable surface reactions will occur.
- Unlike other cleaners, the mold remover exhibitsenhanced action with sunlight. For this reason, a greater and faster effect will be achieved in full sun!
