As has become a tradition, the Winter Marathon event is renewed again for 2015. From January 22 to 25, several vintage cars will do battle on the icy roads of Madonna di Campiglio for the most exciting of winter classics . New this year will be the MA-FRA Trophy that will take place, within the event, on Saturday 24.
The Trophy, reserved for pre-war cars built before 31/12/1945, is out of the classification and consists of a time trial corresponding to a complete lap on the frozen lake of Madonna di Campiglio to be carried out in the imposed time of 48 minutes.
Two opposite start/finish zones are provided: in ascending order of number, each competitor will start and finish on their own start/finish line. For every hundredth of an advance or delay on the imposed time, 1 penalty will be applied without use of coefficients related to the age of the car. The crew that totals the lowest number of penalties compared to their opponents will be awarded the Trophy.
The traditional race, on the other hand, will again this year see the participation driving a 68 Lancia Fulvia Coupe by the Mattioli Brothers, who in addition to serving as the event's main sponsor, will step into the role of drivers for the occasion.
