Tigullio Circuit 2023: back to the jewels of the Riviera di Levante

From October 13 to 15, the second edition of the Circuito del Tigullio 2023, a re-enactment of the historic motorcycle race, will be held in Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino. We at Mafra are present as a sponsor of the event, alongside the enthusiasts.

The date for next weekend is between Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino for the 2023 edition of the Tigullio Circuit, scheduled for October 13-15.

It was November 19, 1922 when the first edition of the Tigullio Circuit, a competition organized by theAuto Moto Club of Genoa. At the start, from Santa Margherita Ligure, forty entrants: the winner was Enrico Manetti with a Frera 500, able to beat rivals in the 1000 class. Thus began a tradition destined to continue until 1932, on a troubled course that replaced the Santa Margherita start with that of Rapallo.

The roll of honors for the Circuito del Tigullio also includes Tazio Nuvolari, first in 1924 in a Bianchi 350; the last winner was, in 1932, Giordano Aldrighetti. Nuvolari also boasts in his palmarès a victory in the Tigullio Motor Circuit, achieved in 1924 with a Bianchi despite running into several accidents.

Tigullio Circuit 2023: second edition

From October 13 to 15, for the second year after the centennial celebrations, the re-enactment of the race on the historic route is staged. The heart of the event is the beautiful resorts of Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino, which host exhibitions, reviews and meetings.

La Historical reenactment includes three laps, 35 kilometers long, on the historic track, reserved for motorcycles built between 1922 and 1932. Also competing on the same track will be the "Myths on Two Wheels.", racing motorcycles of the period from 1933 to the present day.

In Santa Margherita you can see prestigious cars, the museum dedicated to the Tigullio Circuit, and Grand Prix motorcycles from 1933 to the present. Piazza Sant'Erasmo in Santa Margherita is dedicated to electric competition cars and motorcycles to discover the racing of tomorrow.

On display in the Portofino paddock are cars that participated in the 1000 Miglia, the Prancing Horse cars of the local Ferrari Club and legendary motorcycles. The two- and four-wheeled "queens" are the stars of a parade whose arrival is scheduled in Portofino's famous Piazzetta. Also in Portofino, an exhibition dedicated to Tazio Nuvolari and Achille Varzi is set up at the Teatrino Comunale.
