Mafra on the roads of the Perugina Cup 2023

Appointment in Umbria for a new stage of the ASI Circuito Tricolore. From Thursday, May 11 to Sunday, May 14, the appointment with the Circuito Tricolore is renewed on Umbrian roads with the Coppa Perugina. Organized by the Auto Moto d'Epoca Perugino Club, the rally sees Mafra with its distributor Silla as the event's main sponsor.

ASI Circuito Tricolore travels the roads of verdant Umbria with the Coppa Perugina 2023, from Thursday, May 11 until Sunday, May 14, 2023. An itinerary among cities of art and ancient villages, tradition, courtesy, culture and excellent food and wine: this has always been the manifesto of the Perugina Cup, organized by the Camep - Auto Moto d'Epoca Perugino Club, chaired by Ugo Amodeo. The history of the Perugina Cup

That of the Perugina Cup is an important history. It was 1924 when the first edition of this race, the oldest disputed in Umbria, was held. Wanted by theAuto moto club of Perugia, the race was designed to make the people of Perugia experience the strong emotions of motor racing. A great promoter of this race was Giovanni Buitoni, a young scion of the family that owned Perugina. There would be four editions disputed: the first won by Emilio Materassi, the second by Gastone Brilli Peri, while in 1926 it would be Baroness Antonietta Avanzo who would contend for victory to the last with Materassi, who would then prevail, as well as the following year, in the last edition.

The Perugina Cup 2023

The Perugina Cup 2023 sees the participation of 120 crews from Italy and abroad. This edition also celebrates the centenary of the legendary Bacio Perugina. There are two categories of cars that can participate in the event: the first dedicated to open-body cars built up to 1940, while the second includes cars produced from 1941 until 1965.

Few time trials, compared with a route characterized by the beauty of the places that can be visited, combined with a remarkable cultural-enogastronomic encounter.

Regularity trials are held on the Circuit of Magione. Among the locations visited along the roads through Umbria are the castles of Solfagnano e Rosciano, Sansepolcro, Cortona and the Lamborghini estate. Not to be missed is a stop at the historic headquarters of the Perugina for the re-enactment of the "Perugina Cup."
