A great adventure for an extraordinary record: Morocco Speed World Record
Fabio Barone is preparing to take on his latest challenge: breaking the speed record along the roads through the Dadès Valley in Morocco. An adventure that will also feature MAFRA as technical sponsor.
The etymology of the word "adventure" comes from the Latin word "adventura"-"what will happen"-and this is precisely the correct term to describe a risky venture but at the same time attractive and full of fascination for what is unknown or unexpected about it. Going on an adventure makes our heart beat like a teenager on a first date, with the resulting side effects, unbridled heartbeats and adrenaline in industrial quantities.
It will be a grand adventure that Fabio Barone, president of the Ferrari Club Passione Rossa in Rome, is about to embark on, driving his Ferrari 458 given to him by his father. Fabio will face one of the most dangerous roads in the world, the one that winds through the Dadès Valley in Morocco. More than 8 km of climbs and descents that run along the Atlas mountain range, with no protection at its edges. This was the scene of Fabio's latest feat before relegating his helmet and suit to the trunk of memories.
Such an undertaking requires long planning and great technical partners who can support the project so that the prestigious goal can be achieved. MAFRA, as a sponsor of the undertaking, is tasked with making the car's stunning livery shine both before departure and at the conclusion of the adventure. The first appointment with Fabio Barone is in Rome on July 21, in the splendid setting of Cinecittà World, for the presentation of the Ferrari 458's sparkling livery and the adventure the driver is about to embark on. Then in September the team moves to Morocco to begin preparations to break the record, now held by a Frenchman, but which we hope will become Fabio's third success, after those achieved in Transylvania on the Transfagarasan, the most beautiful road in the world, and in China on the Tianmen Mountain Road, the most dangerous road in the world. The date is set for October 4, the day of the feat.
