The Grand Tour of Elba 2024, which concludes theASI Circuito Tricolore, retraces the island's most beautiful roads. And Mafra, which supports the entire calendar of the Circuit, is at the side of the participants promoting the passion for our territory and for the most beautiful cars of yesterday and today.
Elba Island is a land of motor enthusiasts, as evidenced by the long tradition of the international rally held there since way back in 1968 and the more recent one reserved for historic cars.
The Grand Tour of Elba 2024, the event that closes the season of theASI Circuito Tricolore, a set of events promoting knowledge of Italian territories aboard historic cars and motorcycles.
The Grand Tour of Elba 2024 is scheduled for Oct. 3-6 and is supported by Mafra, as are all the events of theASI Circuito Tricolore. Organizing it is the Club Balestrero Veicoli d'Epoca, whose headquarters is in Lucca.
The program of the Grand Tour of Elba 2024
The Grand Tour of Elba 2024 sees the participation of 85 historic cars, produced up to 1999-2000 and bearing a Certificate of Identity ASI (the so-called ASI Gold Targa). The route has a total length of about 170 kilometers and includes about 20 precision tests, placed on a dirt road.
The program begins on Thursday, October 3, with the arrival of the cars by ferry in Portoferraio and transfer to the Le Acacie hotel in Naregno in Capoliveri. The rest of the first day is devoted to checking registrations, relaxing moments and dinner at the hotel.
On Friday, Oct. 4, participants will transfer to Marina di Campo to board a hydrofoil with destination the island of Pianosa. This island, which housed a maximum security prison until 1997, is part of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park and today offers an unaltered natural landscape rich in biodiversity.
The return to Elba Island is scheduled at 5 p.m., while at 7:30 p.m. a new boat takes participants from Neragno to Porto Azzurro, where dinner is scheduled at "Il Delfino Verde" restaurant.
On Saturday, October 5, at 9:30 a.m., the cars will depart from Capoliverito reach the Ripalte Estate, driving along the Costa dei Gabbiani and performing some skill tests along the way.
The estate is known for producing Tuscan products and thousands of bottles of the typical Elba wine, Aleatico. The property is located in a natural oasis, overlooking the sea and part of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park.
After a tour of the wineries, an aperitif and lunch, at 3 p.m. participants depart on shuttles to the Punta Calamita Mine, closed since 1981, of which a visit is planned.
At 5 p.m. it's back to the Le Acacie hotel with a course that includes more skill tests. At 8:30 p.m. it is time for the gala dinner at the hotel, with musical entertainment and Tuscan cigar tasting by the Manifattura Tabacchi of Lucca.
On Sunday, Oct. 6, at 9:30 a.m., crews will move to Portoferraio, where cars will be parked and displayed on the pier while participants take guided tours of the Napoleon's Villa which is located on the promontory. Built in 1724, this villa is one of two on Elba that welcomed the French emperor during his exile on the island from May 1814 to February 1815.
At La Bussola restaurant, on the Lungomare Le Ghiaie in Portoferraio, the awards ceremony for participants will be held after lunch. The event is scheduled to end at 3:30 pm.
