Supercars meet again at Targa Sobrero
An unmissable event for supercar enthusiasts, the Targa Sobrero scheduled from May 29 to June 1. The event, which ranges from the province of Cuneo to Lake Maggiore, allows over fifty cars, including Ferraris, Porsches and Lamborghinis, to be admired. And Mafra welcomes participants with its own welcome kit.
Giovanni Sobrero and his wife Giovanna are the soul of Targa Sobrero, an event intended for supercar lovers now in its third year. With their passion, which Mafra shares, they organize an event that brings together more than fifty high-performance cars. This year the route runs from the province of Cuneo to Stresa, on the shores of Lake Maggiore. Mafra welcomes participants to the Targa Sobrero with its unmistakable inflatable arch and accompanies them along the route with its banners.
The Mafra Welcome Kit at Targa Sobrero 2024
Mafra is offering Targa Sobrero 2024 participants a welcome kit that contains, in an elegant silver bag, along with a badge holder and cap, these products, perfect for keeping your car shiny at all times:
Waterless is Mafra's innovative product, in the 750 ml package, that allows you to wash all exterior car parts without having to use water.
Heavy Work is Mafra's microfiber cloth, which can be used both to dry the bodywork after a wash and to remove dirt inside the passenger compartment.
The Targa Sobrero program
Supercars such as Ferrari (most of the cars present), Lamborghini, Porsche and, this year, even a rare Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari take part in the Targa Sobrero.
The cars are escorted along the route by the motorcycles of members of Ducati clubs, such as the Desmolanghe of Alba (CN). The majority of participating crews come from the cantons of French-speaking Switzerland.
The program includes on Wednesday, May 29, the arrival of the crews in Savigliano (CN), where a party and dinner are organized. On Thursday, May 30, the event gets into full swing with a series of regularity trials, also scheduled in the Savigliano area.
Then, preceded by the Ducatis, the cars begin their journey in the direction of Biella, stopping for lunch at La Porta delle Langhe restaurant, near the highway exit of Marene (CN).
In the evening, arrival is expected in the Biella area, where participants will stay overnight at the Relais Santo Stefano in Sandigliano (BI), after dining in the same location at Cascina Era.
The highlight of Friday, May 31, is the opportunity to run, divided into groups, several laps of one of the tracks at the Balocco (VC) complex. The test facility, built in 1962 by Alfa Romeo, today belongs to the Stellantis Group. On the asphalt of the track, supercar drivers can unload the full power of their cars in safe conditions.
After brunch, still planned at the Relais Santo Stefano, the cars and Ducatis of the "escort" head to the Grand Hotel Borromeo in Stresa. In the evening, participants have the opportunity to sail the waters of Lake Maggiore aboard three boats rented for the occasion. Dinner is planned, along with a show, at theIsola dei Pescatori, one of the picturesque Borromean Islands.
On Saturday, June 1, the program begins with a parade of cars through the streets of Omegna, a picturesque town overlooking the shores of Lake Orta.
Afterwards, from noon to 7 p.m., the supercars are displayed in Stresa, on the stretch of provincial road between the Regina Palace Hotel and Hotel La Palma. The road is closed to traffic for the occasion.
Bridesmaiding the Targa Sobrero supercars here are the club's motorcycles Ducati Desmo Laghi Arona. The event concludes Sunday evening with a gala dinner and awards ceremony for the crews at the Grand Hotel Borromeo in Stresa.
Mafra shares a passion for the most beautiful and sporty cars of today and the past with the participants of Targa Sobrero 2024.
