Crews participating in the Coppa dei Lupi, a race that starts and finishes in Sora (FR), are greeted with the Mafra Welcome Kit, featuring the best products for car care
Race of the Italian Historic Car Regularity Championship, the Wolves Cup, scheduled for November 8 and 9, is organized by the Scuderia del Tempo Perso of Sora (FR), with which Mafra shares a passion for the most beautiful cars of all time. Participants in the Coppa dei Lupi, in fact, Mafra offers the Welcome Kit, containing in a practical package valuable products for the care of their cars.
Previous editions of the pandemic were held in winter, on snowy trails that also touched the nearby Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park.. Routes that tested the skills of crews and historic cars.
Since last year, the Wolves Cup, now in its tenth year, has instead been scheduled in the fall and is held at lower altitudes. This does not make the race any less challenging, as its more technical aspects emerge. The course, more than 200 kilometers long, includes 60 time trials.
La Wolves Cup is therefore a very selective race: not surprisingly, the winners of past editions include. Mario Passanante, one of the greatest champions of Regularity for historic cars, brand ambassador Mafra.
The Wolves Cup program
The Wolves Cup kicks off Friday, Nov. 8, with scrutineering, scheduled from 4:30 to 8 p.m. in Sora on Serafini Street. Competitors can also conduct scrutineering on the morning of Saturday, Nov. 9 between 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
At 12 p.m. Saturday, the 2024 novelty of the Wolves Cup, the timed Power Stage that starts in Independence Square in Sora, Italy, takes the stage. These are three precision timed trials designed to introduce the general public to the mechanics and secrets of regularity racing.
After the Power Stage, the first car is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. for Sector 1 of the race, which runs from Sora to Atina and is 46.650 kilometers long.
The route includes passing through Pescosolido, the Lacerno Valley and San Donato Valcomino, before the control at the Ducal Palace in Atina Centro.
The second sector, from Atina to Cassino, on the other hand, is 52.150 kilometers long and includes a time control of the competitors' passage at De Gasperi Square in downtown Cassino.
The third and fourth sectors are made more difficult by nightfall, although, to help crews, the pressure switches for surveying mileage sections are illuminated.
The third sector runs from Cassino to Casalvieri via Atina Inferiore and is 41.480 kilometers long: after driving along roads often used for rallies held in the area, the cars must present themselves for the penultimate time control in Piazza San Rocco in Casalvieri.
The fourth and final sector takes competitors back from Casalvieri to Sora, passing by the Vicalvi Castle, from Alvito and Sant'Onofrio, for a distance of 49.320 kilometers: after the last time control in Pescosolido, the cars will return to Sora starting at 8:30 p.m.
