Nuvolari and the Tigullio Circuit.
The great driver Tazio Nuvolari is very attached to the Tigullio Circuit, where he achieved important successes. In 1924, in fact, he won on four wheels, at the wheel of a Bianchi Type 18 at an average speed of more than 52 km/h, seizing his first major success despite an off-road accident in which he had severely damaged the car.
The chronicles tell that Nuvolari, due to a tire blowout, had ended up in a ditch. Having put the overturned car back on track thanks to the help of some spectators, the Mantuan ace managed to get to the finish line first despite maneuvering the steering with a wrench, used instead of the steering wheel that had come off in the collision.
But Nuvolari 's exploits at the Tigullio Circuit were not over. In 1929, in fact, he also imposed himself among two-wheelers, asserting himself in the motorcycle edition of the Ligurian race dedicated for the occasion to Prince of Piedmont Umberto di Savoia.
The champion from Mantova, who was riding a Bianchi 350, once again demonstrated his ability to excel with different motor vehicles.
Mafra supports with its participation the Tigullio Circuit and the crews, with whom it shares a love for the most beautiful cars of all time.
