For the past few years MaFra has been looking for the best talent in motorsports disciplines, especially those followed by younger enthusiasts. Drifting is one in its own right and Riccardo Tonali, who practices it, a real phenomenon! So we decided to become his technical sponsor, also providing him with all the necessary products to make his car shine before and after each race. Let's get to know this very young driver better.

For those few who still don't know drifting the advice is to look at the spectacular images of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, you will never be able to do without it again! It is a very spectacular discipline which consists of drifting through curves while keeping the car sideways as long as possible without going off the road. The number of spectators is constantly growing, and the specialty is widely followed, especially on social channels where, thanks to its spectacularity, it has won a young and very passionate audience.

Champions of this specialty come from all parts of the world, and in Italy, too, we have young talents who are also making their mark on the international circuits. One of them is definitely Riccardo Tonali.

Who is Riccardo Tonali the Italian drifting phenomenon?

Drifting has been his passion since childhood, so much so that he began to practicing it in Japan in 2011, when he was not yet 10 years old! He was Frederick Sheriff to discover Riccardo's talent. After watching him try his hand at the track, the well-known Milanese drifting champion sensed the boy's full potential and took him to Japan. Here, driving a Mazda MX5 of Team Orange, Riccardo was able to learn all the tricks of this spectacular specialty.

Returning from his Japanese experience, his father gave him a BMW E36, with which the young driver made a name for himself by showing all his skills on Italian circuits. Riccardo Tonali's name began to circulate among fans, and his notoriety increased when he was invited to the Italia1 program "Tu si que Vales". A great opportunity to make known to the general public not only his skills as a driver but also the discipline of drifting.

An early career

His career is already very rewarding. At only 14 years old, he made his debut at the King of Europe, the international drifting championship, obtaining excellent placings. On March 4, 2019, Riccardo is the first boy to obtain the "ACI CSAI" licensefor the under-18 drifting category, confirming his innate talents in the specialty. Also in 2019, he participates in both the Italian Championship and at the European Championship, finishing in both competitions in eighth place in the Pro 2 category.
