WinteRace 2021: MAFRA Platinum Sponsor of the eighth edition

By now, we are very close to the WinteRace 2021 and we are looking forward to taking part in the race: it will take place from March 4 to 6, 2021. The one between Mafra and WinteRace is a well-established partnership, which has been renewed for many years and allows us to spread the culture of car care even more among motor enthusiasts.

Once again this year, our brand will be among the Platinum Sponsors of the WinteRace 2021. In addition to having great visibility during the race, thanks to our inflatable arches positioned along the route, with our products we will be at the side of the crews that will start on March 5 from Cortina d'Ampezzo. Each participating couple, in fact, will receive a special Welcome Kit with a selection of our most useful products to face the difficulties of the race.

The Route and the Mafra Trophy.

The route of WinteRace 2021 takes place along the beautiful passes of the Dolomites. Competitors will face a very challenging 400 km route divided into two day stages. There are 66 time trials and 6 average trials, for a total of 72 surveys. On the Giau Pass, the MAFRA Trophy will also be awarded: 6 timed special stages, at the end of which the crew with the best time will be awarded.

The Mafra Kit

Our kit designed for the 2021 edition of the WinteRace is a real concentration of technology and effectiveness. Definitely a great help for competitors who will be competing in extreme and truly challenging conditions.

WinteRace 2021 still means challenge in the Mattioli household

Also at the start will be the two brothers Massimiliano and Marco Mattioli, driving a 1973 Fiat 124 Abarth Rally and a1974 Alfa Romeo Gt Veloce, respectively. With them will be faithful navigators Massimiliano Gatti and Mario Pensotti, ready to provide all the guidance needed to excel in a challenge that goes far beyond family honor. The loser, in fact, will have to wash the winner's car, and in the MAFRA household that means long and meticulous work!

The route of WinteRace 2021

As always the WinteRace unfolds along the roads that, starting from Cortina d'Ampezzo, branch off along the Dolomites, one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the world, declared a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. Scrutineering is scheduled for Thursday 4 of all cars registered for the race, the start is for the morning of the next day.

First Stage

The start is set for Friday 5 at 9 a.m. from Corso Italia in Cortina d'Ampezzo. The cars will immediately face a very challenging passage: the Giau Pass. Then they will head towards Arabba, after tackling the special stages planned in Pian di Salesei. The second pass to be crossed will be the Pordoi and then the Sella and Gardena. The race will make a stop for lunch in Colfosco at the "Kolfuschgerhof" hotel, then everyone will drive again in the direction of beautiful Corvara and San Vigilio di Marebbe. Over the Furcia Pass, the cars will arrive in Toblach where a coffee stop is also planned, and then head over the Cimabanche Pass. At about 4:15 p.m. the first car is scheduled to arrive in Corso Italia in Cortina D'Ampezzo.

Second Stage

After spending the night in Cortina , the competitors will depart, again from Corso Italia at 9:00 a.m., this time in the direction of the Falzarego Pass. Having tackled the special tests planned in Rucavà and passed through Falcade, the cars will cross the second pass of the morning, the Rolle to arrive in San Martino di Castrozza and the beautiful village of Siror. Stop for lunch in Fiera di Primiero. In the afternoon the cars will have to pass the Cereda Pass and then head to Gosaldo and Agordo. At the end of practice on the Alleghe lakeside, the cars will drive up the Giau and then close the race in Cortina d'Ampezzo, where the finish is scheduled at 5 p.m.

There are more than 400 kilometers to cover, 66 time trials, 72 surveys and no less than 11 Dolomite passes. This is what competitors will have to face to win the WinteRace 2021.
