Last weekends in the mountains for hiking lovers, your prevention in three easy steps!
Spring is just around the corner and, let's face it, the temperatures have become (almost) pleasant. It may seem strange to you, yet there are those who are just now beginning to plan their first weekends in the mountains-which would then also be their last of the season. The explanation for this is very simple: not everyone is equipped to cope with the harsher conditions of winter (too many inches of snow and locations that can be reached in an ungainly manner). In short, there are people who do not like skiing but would not say no to a cool environment where they can enjoy long walks. This article, in fact, was precisely inspired to us by you readers, your valuable messages and requests for advice. So, we at Mafra thought of drawing up a minimal decalogue dedicated to the less experienced, capable of collecting some simple good practices that can be applied immediately to spend a peaceful (and safer) weekend in the mountains. Let's find out them together.
1. Tires: obligations and expedients
Before you plan your weekend in the mountains, remember that mandatory winter tires are valid until April 15!

On the rest, just remember that, after each wash, you can use a protective brightener such as Extreme Black the spray tire black from Mafra that shines and, more importantly, protects tires from aging. This treatment is able to give an antistatic protective shield that resists moisture, dust and everyday dirt. You can find it inside in our Rim and Tire Cleaner Kit new special offer from Mafra Shop dedicated to all those people who love to have their alloy wheels and tires always shining!
2. Defrosting the windshield
Among the products you should always have on hand is a good de-icer that can effortlessly remove ice from your car windows.

Go ahead and take a look at our Not Ice Power: a product capable of guaranteeing an immediate effect thanks to its concentrated ice-breaker formula, which respects every part of the car and fights the problem of windshield wipers stuck by ice. If you spend the entire weekend in the mountains you should always anticipate the possibility of the ice effect, especially if your car will be subjected to nighttime temperatures.
3. Engine maintenance
Our third tip is an ever-valid suggestion: don't forget to give the radiator a periodic check, always do it before any trip.

Alu-Flu Red from Mafra is a radiator coolant for new generation engines. Alu-Flu Rosso is the evolution of classic protective fluids; its new formulation maintains the freezing temperature at -38°C and the boiling point above 110°C. Mafra's new composition of Alu-Flu Rosso allows the best protection performance for all the metal components that make up the cooling circuit-a guarantee of excellence among all the products currently on the market.
