Getting a headlight restoration kit is indispensable for anyone who wants to take care of their car nowadays. Cleaning car headlights is, in fact, one of the fastest growingcar care operations in recent years!
Dull headlights are a problem that plagues many motorists, from any car and any country. The material from which they are made, in fact, tends to become dull over time. The cause is weathering. Smog and heat from the sun, in fact, heat up the plastic and lead it to deteriorate, decreasing visibility at night and negatively impacting aesthetics as well.
I car headlights are constantly "bombarded" by atmospheric agents in both summer and winter, and it is therefore necessary to take care of them by carrying out a thorough car headlight cleaning.
How to clean car headlights with Kit Rinnova Fari, Mafra's headlight restoration kit
To clean car headlights and restore the transparency of yellowed lights quickly and easily, special headlight restoration kits can be used. For example, Mafra's HEADLIGHT RENOVATOR KIT allows you to restore the original transparency of the headlights and improve the effectiveness of the lights. The kit consists of:
- two formulations (a polish and a headlight sealant);
- seven abrasive papers;
- a polyurethane polishing medium for use in removing dirt deposited on glass and cleaning dull headlights.
KIT RINNOVA FARI is a product specially designed to polish car headlights in a short time and restore the original vigor and transparency to headlights yellowed by time.
To clean your car headlights, simply follow a series of 5 small steps that are quick and easy with the use of KIT RENOVA FARI

1 - Wash the headlights to remove the most superficial dirt.
Removing the bulk of the dirt is necessary to avoid working on a surface that is not ready for treatment: dirt and grime could alter the final results of the car headlight treatment.

2 - Delineate the surface of the lighthouse.
To be sure to treat only the plastic part of the headlights use paper tape and mark off the area around the headlight. Headlight seals and bodywork will not be affected in this way.

3 - Use sandpaper.
So-called sludge, the dirt that settles over time on headlights and contributes to their dull, yellow color, must be removed by resorting to a little manual dexterity to achieve a truly transparent end result.
Then use abrasive paper, dip it in water, and with the help of a holder begin to pass the paper over the surface of the headlight using short, rapid horizontal and vertical movements. There is a special polyurethane holder in the Headlight Renewal Kit to carry out this operation.
Following the use of sandpaper, the headlamp will be dull as the headlamp protector will have been removed and the original, rough, matte surface will have been restored.
After using regular sandpaper, it is necessary to switch to a deeper degree of lighthouse sanding, with finer abrasive grit. To do this, use 3000- and 5000-grit Strips, small abrasive discs that can lighten the dullness left with conventional sandpapers and make the surface of the lighthouse even.
Depending on the degree of oxidation achieved and the irregularities that can be felt to the touch on the surface of the headlamp, choose which type of strip to use. If the headlight is not particularly worn use the blue one directly, if it is still very rough to the touch use the brown one first.

4 - Use of polish.
When the plastic is completely smooth and polished, it will be possible to apply polish with the help of simple cotton pads. The polish has the function of brightening, polishing, finishing the plastic and restoring its vigor. Once done remove the excess with a cloth and peel off the tape.
At this point the lighthouse will be transparent and shiny.

5 - Complete the operation with Headlight sealant.
The function of the sealant is to protect and preserve the work done and seal the plastic surface of the headlamp. Spread the product with a cloth until the maximum shine of the headlamp lens is achieved.
The job is done!
You will be amazed at how much the headlights, once they become clear again, give your car more luster in every way, both in terms of aesthetics and road visibility. Between winter and summer, the warm weather is the best time to take care of your headlights and clean them where necessary.
Don't forget to make sure at night that the light beam is projected correctly.
