Mafra sponsors the Abruzzo Winter Race 2023
On Saturday, February 25, the Abruzzo Winter Race 2023, a regularity race for classic cars that takes place along the roads leading to the Gran Sasso, will be held. An event with Mafra as the main Sponsor, with its inflatable arches and a special Welcome Kit.
Numerous crews, from all over Italy, are taking the start of the Abruzzo Winter Race 2023. The appointment for the third edition of the race is in Piazza Risorgimento in Avezzano on Saturday, Feb. 25. This is where the classic car rally organized by theAbruzzo Drivers Club e Federauto ASI, an event that opens the 2023 season of ASI events. Over 35 skill tests along the snowy roads of Abruzzo!
Appointment then for Saturday, Feb. 25, at 8:30 a.m. for scrutineering. The first car takes off at 10 a.m. from Piazza Risorgimento in Avezzano. From here the crews head to the "I Picchi" airfield in Celano for some skill tests. The caravan then continues on to Sulmona for a visit to the Pellino Confetti Museum, and then set course for Roccaraso, where the "SnowDriving" takes place, the special driving test on the fabulous ice rink.
After stopping for brunch, it's off again in the direction of Pescasseroli, a well-known ski resort in Abruzzo. The event is scheduled to close at 7:15 p.m. in Avezzano, again in Piazza Risorgimento, where the public can admire all the cars. At 8:30 p.m. awards ceremony for the crews and closing dinner.
Last year's event had featured young numbers, as Felice Graziani, president of Abruzzo Drivers Club, pointed out at the conclusion of the event. It was precisely a "young" crew, composed of Nicola and Marta Alessandrelli, that had won the top step of the podium, aboard a blazing 1968 Innocenti Mini Cooper.
