Ready to start the summer racing season dedicated to classic cars.
It starts on Friday, June 14 until Sunday, June 16. As the backdrop of the eighth edition of the 2019 Summer Marathon the Alpine passes between Madonna di Campiglio, St Moritz and Livigno .
The engines are warming up: brothers Marco and Massimiliano Mattioli are ready to compete along the roads of the 2019 Summer Marathon, now inits 8th edition. Included in the prestigious ACI Sport "Superclassica 2019 Category" calendar , the 2019 Summer Marathon sees the participation of 80 cars, all pre-December 31, 1981. Mafra is present as Main Sponsor of the event and will field two cars on the starting grid, an event not to be missed.
Awards, Trophies and Welcome Kit
Mafra inflatable arches will be the starting and finishing points of the stages, while flags will fly along the 2019 Summer Marathon route #Labocosmetics. For all crews registered for the race, Mafra has provided a special Welcome Kit containing products for the care of their cars. Also up for grabs are two Mafra trophies; one for the overall winner of the 2019 Summer Marathon, and the other for the winner of the 3rd Elegance Competition, delivered at the finish of the second leg.
Who will win?
Marco and Massimiliano Mattioli continue their personal challenge by lining up at the start of the 2019 Summer Marathon driving a 1974Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce and a 1973 Fiat 124 Spider Sport Abarth, respectively. As all true enthusiasts know, vintage races are trials of regularity; it is not who is fastest but who is most precise that wins. So here, sitting alongside Marco and Massimiliano, are two navigators who are experts in this type of racing: Remigio Busso and Massimiliano Gatti. A challenge, that between the Mattioli brothers, which therefore sees the whole company involved... and which will certainly continue at other events.
Summer Marathon 2019 renews its route
The resorts of Desenzano del Garda, Val di Sole, Val Rendena and St Moritz are among the protagonists of the 2019 Summer Marathon. It starts right from Desenzano to tackle 3 stages, totaling 738 kilometers, along which the cars pass through beautiful natural landscapes.
8 Alpine passes to be tackled by the crews: Valvestino, Carlo Magno, Tonale, Gavia, Foscagno, Forcola, Bernina and Aprica. 6 lakes to be skirted to reach resorts such as Salò, Madonna di Campiglio, Ponte di Legno, Bormio, Livigno and St Moritz. After 90 classic and 6 average time trials, the cars return to Desenzano where the 2019 Summer Marathon concludes.
