RV washing, the first step to perfect cleaning.
5inCamper's tutorials on how to clean the RV from A to Z continue. After tackling the problem of black stripes, Valeria and Matteo now turn to another very important step: washing the RV.
A clean RV is not only beautiful to look at. Always having a clean RV is also the correct way to preserve its value and prevent the inexorable action of time from irreparably ruining it. In this new episode of 5inCamper, Valeria and Matthew will cover washing the RV, explaining the decontamination step, a key step in proper cleaning. After addressing the problem of black stripes, we now find out how to remove all that hard-to-remove dirt, such as insect residues and tree resin.
Some useful advice before you start
As in all things, it is always important to follow some simple guidelines to make sure you get a perfect result. These are the tips from the Mafra experts:
- Strictly adhere to dilution and setting time (where indicated);
- Never work under direct sunlight exposure;
- Surfaces to be treated should not be overheated by sunlight or mechanical parts;
- Rinse (where applicable) thoroughly.

Equip yourself with the correct equipment
Washing the RV cannot be without buckets and running water, but it also requires some specific products, just like those used by Valeria and Matteo:
Microfiber glove of the highest quality, ideal for washing all the lower parts of the motorhome. Thanks to its large format, 30 x 20 cm, it allows large areas of bodywork to be cleaned in just a few passes, following every corner and detail of the motorhome.
Protective stocking to be applied on top of the brush, will prevent any impurities from ruining the surface of the RV and make it easier to wash the higher surfaces.
Microfiber cloth, in the 60 x 40 cm format, perfect for spreading products evenly. The high performance of technological microfibers, is not comparable to that of any other material, as these fibers are incredibly soft, durable and with high absorbency
Sponge pads with narrow cells for dressings, polishes, waxes and sealants. Foam Pad allows safe, even and gentle spreading of product. Ideal for working on non-smooth surfaces, it is the perfect solution.

Eliminate difficult dirt
Especially in summer, the insects are a big problem, a phenomenon very much felt by campers. When moving with the motorhome, the front is filled with numerous residues that must be removed quickly, because they release very aggressive substances that ruin the surface of the paintwork by going to affect the transparent layer. For this operation Killer from Mafra is the perfect solution: easy to use, it guarantees an absolutely stunning result.
Before spraying Killer on the surface to be treated, rinse thoroughly with water so as to remove the coarsest dirt. Then wipe with the microfiber cloth Heavy Work and, as if by magic, you will see all the gnat residue disappear. Rinse again and the front of your RV will be perfectly clean.

Another typical summer problem is the resin that settles on the roof of the RV when, in search of some shade, you park it under trees. Also for this, Mafra provided to 5inCamper the ideal solution: Resin Off. A product specially designed to remove difficult dirt such as the tree resin and the saltiness. Sprayed on a microfiber cloth and then wiped directly on the affected area, it removes any residue in a moment.

While for the more stubborn dirt, such as the grease stains and tar residues that settle especially along the wheel beams and in the lower part of the RV, Valeria and Matteo used Deca Flash. Spray the product on the surface to be treated, then wipe with cloth and rinse, in no time everything is nice and clean again.

For the Cleaning the lower parts of the camper and the rims, where the toughest dirt resides, thanks to the powerful degreasing action of HP12 you will be able to make everything perfectly clean again. First. Wet the surface to be treated, spray HP12 On the parts to be cleaned, let it act for 20 seconds and then spread the product with the glove Double Face wet with clean water. Finally rinse with plenty of water and toloosen with the Super Dryer cloth.

Cleaning and degreasing glass
After taking care of the camper's exterior surfaces and removing the toughest dirt, Valeria and Matteo moved on to cleaning the windows. Thanks to Glass Clean & Shine all glass is back clean and perfectly clear. Its powerful active foam quickly and effectively cleans surfaces. Simply spray the product at a distance of about 15-25 cm, let it work for a few seconds and then wipe with a clean microfiber cloth. All glass will shine like new again.

Wash exterior
After the toughest dirt has been removed, it is time for a good general cleaning of the camper's exterior. With Polish Express this operation is very easy. Diluted in water at a ratio of 1:20 and applied to all RV surfaces, it will make them shine again by making them clean and leaving a pleasant wax effect which will also help the water slide off when rinsing.

A few extra touches
Your camper also deserves some pampering. Don't forget the tires! Make them like new again with Fast & Black, the anti-static spray polish, which protects and revives the original color of any type of tire, preserving it from cracking caused by weather and chemicals, and giving that beautiful black rubber Typical of new tires.

For perfect cleaning of all plastic exterior parts, such as the bumper, rearview mirror caps, door handles, and various seals on the RV, there is Faspoiler. Again, simply spray the product about 20 cm from the surface and then wipe the Foam Pad to make the product adhere well to the surface, which is generally not perfectly smooth. You'll see the plastics come back nice and shiny, like new!
