The Meano Concours d'Elegance, a special event
The purpose of the Meano Concours d'Elegance is to raise funds for the establishment of a restoration school for classic cars in the village of Meano, a hamlet of Corzano (BS). To this end, a Raffle is also organized, the most coveted prize of which is a historic Fiat 500.
At Competition of Elegance take part 55 cars, selected by a jury of experts, including several unique specimens, a rare version of the Lancia Aprilia and an equally valuable Porsche 959. The prestige achieved by the event means that this year participants are coming from places as far away as Rome.
Guests of honor at the event are expected to be Enrico Fumia, one of the most important car designers of the past decades (the Alfa Romeo 164 and GTV/Spider series 916 and the Lancia Y bear his signature), and former Formula 1 driver Alex Caffi, honorary president of the club MeAuto of Meano di Corzano.
As of this year, there will be two prizes for Best in Show cars (awarded the title of Bella Castellana), one intended for the most classic cars and one for the most modern cars; in addition to these are the awards provided for the top three in each of the categories covered by the regulations.
An additional prize, dedicated to the memory of Giuseppe Luraghi, president ofAlfa Romeo between the 1950s and 1970s, is for the best historical example of the House of the Biscione; the winner has the honor of receiving it directly from the hands of the manager's granddaughter, Maria Laura Luraghi.

The program of the Meano Concours d'Elegance
The event is scheduled to begin with the arrival of the cars at Meano Castle between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 29. This is followed at 11 a.m. by a greeting to participants by civil authorities and the Rotary Club Brescia-Meano delle Terre Basse.
At 12 noon, the cars move to reach the Padernello Castle, passing through places of historical interest in the province of Brescia. The manor house, where lunch is held for participants, has 15th-century origins and is surrounded by a moat with a drawbridge; during the 1700s it was transformed into a mansion, now open for guided tours.

The route of the cars continues in the direction of Feltrinelli Palace in Gerolanuova (finished in 1792), where, starting at 4:30 p.m., the parade is staged with the presentation to the public of the 55 eligible cars. Finally, at 5 p.m., the awards ceremony is scheduled, followed by the drawing of prizes awarded through the Lottery.
Mafra stands by the participants of the Meano Concours d'Elegance, to whom it offers its Welcome Kit and with whom it shares its passion for the most beautiful classic cars of all time.
