Once again this year, we were chosen by Ruoteclassiche as the technical partner of the Master Restaurateur Auto d'Epoca: a great recognition for our activity. Last July 18, we hosted Editoriale Domus Master's students at the company for an "on-the-job" lesson: experts from the MAFRA Detailing School explained to the participants the specific techniques of Car Detailing, the discipline that can make a historic car shine like new again.
The classic car market in Italy is growing rapidly, just think that the value of "historic" cars has increased by 192 percent in the last 10 years! It is a passion that involves people of all ages, starting with the so-called Baby Boomers, collectors aged between 53 and 72, to the very young Millennials. While the former are mainly owners of cars produced between the 1950s and 1970s, the latter are particularly interested in more recent models, the Instant Classic. One thing that unites any collector is the desire to get a good deal, and as such, it must also be well cared for. The classic car is becoming a safe-haven asset, and owners are increasingly willing to invest in restoration work that can also raise its value.
MAFRA technical partner of Ruoteclassiche Master's program
To meet a growing demand for experienced restorers, Ruoteclassiche and the Accademia Editoriale Domus (AED) created the Master Restaurateur Auto d'Epoca, now in its third year. From the beginning, MAFRA has been involved in this training project as a technical partner. A great recognition, the result of our passion and more than 50 years of experience in developing the best solutions for the care and maintenance of any vehicle.
In particular, products from the #Labocosmetica division are a perfect match for restoration work on a classic car, especially those of a conservative nature. Car Detailing: a day of training "in the field"
As part of the educational program, on Thursday, July 18, Master Classic Car Restorers enrollees spent a day at MAFRA's Detailing School, where they were able to learn the basic techniques of Car Detailing. The day began with a theory session by professional detailers from the team's #Labocosmetics, who explained the procedures for proper detailing treatment. Participants then tried their hand at some practical tests: pre-washing, decontamination, complete washing and polishing, again under the supervision of our expert detailers.
Thanks to the technical and practical session at our Detailing School, master's participants also had the opportunity to learn about #Labocosmetica products and discuss with our detailers how to get the most out of car care. Proper work procedures, combined with the quality of #Labocosmetica products, are the right mix to make a historic car shine like new again. Car Detailing is a technique that the classic car restorer absolutely must have in his or her professional background!
A Master's degree for true enthusiasts
Ruoteclassiche's Master Restauratori Auto d'Epoca is a three-week training course, which this year saw the participation of 26 enthusiasts, ranging in age from 15 to 44, who were strongly interested in learning all the procedures for working on a historic car. It consisted of 15 very intense days made up of classroom theory sessions, practical tests at the Quattroruote workshop and off-site lectures. Exceptional lecturers are Ruoteclassiche journalists, who take turns with restoration professionals and master craftsmen to teach the working methodologies and, at the same time, also transmit the passion essential to perform the restoration of a classic car.
