At the 2024 edition of the Magnum Run, Mafra not only offers participants a Welcome Kit, but also takes to the race with the Di Florio-Torrisi crew in an Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce, inspired by the rally theme.
Magnum Run is something special, arising in the wake of the Crazy Run. It is not a car race, nor a treasure hunt, but a stand-alone event in which participants only know the starting and finishing places. The rest is up to their skill in discovering the route, following the directions of the staff and earning points that are valid for the final ranking.
Magnum Run, whose name is inspired by that of the legendary protagonist of the evening TV show Magnum P.I. played by Tom Selleck, is held this year from October 18 to 20, as always under the banner of passion for the most beautiful cars. A passion that Mafra fully shares, so much so that it offers participants the Welcome Kit, containing in a practical case Mafra products ideal for the care of their cars and in particular:

Mafra drops into contention at Magnum Run 2024

In fact, Francesco Di Florio, Mafra head of marketing and communication, and Matteo Torrisi, an expert in restoration, detailing and car care with his Pilot's Workshop.
Francesco and Matteo are aboard a splendid 1974 Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce, a car that, always holding high the Mafra banner, has already taken part in several prestigious events for historic cars, starting with the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique.
And it is precisely the theme of rallies that is impersonated by the Mafra crew and its car, decorated with graphics that recall the fascinating world of road racing and registered with the number 56 under the Maniac Team insignia.

Magnum Run, a special formula
Those participating in the Magnum Run must be prepared for any eventuality. The event is not a speed race: rather, participants are expected to strictly abide by the Highway Code. However, crews must show intuition, deftly solving the tests planned by the organizers and finding the shortest routes to the stage locations.
Historic cars, built before 1999, can participate in the Magnum Run, unless exceptions are made for special models: particularly welcome are the youngtimers, which allow you to relive the magical atmosphere of the 1980s and 1990s.
The number of participants is limited, so the secret to having the best chance of being admitted is originality, not only of the car and its decoration, which can be inspired by a specific theme, but also of the clothing. Ideally, in fact, it should be consistent with the year of production of the car.
Lots of prizes at Magnum Run 2024
Being original means having a better chance of winning one of the prizes up for grabs. Trophies are provided not only for the top three in the overall standings, which are drawn up based on the scores obtained in the trials along the route, but also for those who emerge with special features.
These, in fact, are the prizes intended for the best participants:
- Super Magnum for the team that best interpreted the spirit of the event
- Magnumizer for the best theme expressed by a crew or for the best mix of cars and vintage clothing
- Magnum Car for the most exclusive car at the event
- Magnum Special for the best score totaled in the special test called "fil ruouge"
- Magnum^2, awarded through a vote among participants
The overall winner is awarded free participation for two people in next year's Magnum Run.
The program of the Magnum Run 2024
This year's Magnum Run takes place in Tuscany, on a route of about 300 kilometers, and has as its reference point the NH Hotel in Siena, which is also the only meeting and starting place unveiled in advance to competitors.
The Magnum Run program begins on Friday, October 18, with a meeting at the NH Hotel in Siena to enjoy the pre-race atmosphere and prepare for the event. At 4 p.m., check-in, hotel setup and car verification begin; there is also time to relax before the welcome drink.
On Saturday, October 19, the crews are scheduled to depart at 9:30 a.m. and stop for a lunch break at 1 p.m.; they return to the hotel around 4 p.m., so as to give the crews time to relax before the dinner and party, which begin at 8 p.m.
On Sunday, Oct. 20, a briefing with announcement of the partial standings is held at 9 a.m., just before the start of the second stage, which is scheduled to end at 1:30 p.m. with the car show, lunch and awards ceremony.
The cars of Magnum Run 2024
Truly all kinds of cars are participating in the Magnum Run: one only has to scroll through the line-up of those admitted this year to realize that. Standing out, in addition to the Di Florio-Torrisi crew in their Alfa Romeo 1750 GT Veloce from Maniac Team, is certainly Danny Lazzarin, fitness expert, influencer and youtuber, present with his own car, after his previous experiences with Francesco Di Florio and Mafra.
But also attracting attention are other cars, such as the 1971 Fiat 500 Gamine Vignaleof the Romagna Tira a Campari team, the 1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow of Zlatan and the House on Wheels, the Engine Mafia's '67 Chevrolet Corvette, the Panda of the Bim Bum Bambi...
