At Mafra, we believe strongly in talent, which is why when we identify promising young talents we like to invest in their future. Cristian Bertuca and Riccardo Tonali are two examples of this passion of ours, Mafra's new young talents!
One has the talent from birth, but it must be cultivated from early on to become true champions.
Michael Schumacher was only 4 years old when he drove karts on the Kerpen circuit. Valentino Rossi also started very young; as early as 9 years old he had a license to drive karts, and by 12 he was participating in races dedicated to minimotos, dominating them. The career of a champion starts early, and by taking part in competitions, he learns precisely how to become familiar with speed and control the vehicle in all conditions. Precisely because we believe that the future is in the hands of young talents, we help future champions to grow, supporting them with our products and helping them to face competitions at their best.
Cristian Bertuca, the "Cannibal" of karting.
Among the various sponsorships we are particularly proud of is that of the Birel ART Racing team, a stable that participates in several championships dedicated to karts, including the OK-Junior category where Cristian Bertuca races. Nicknamed "Cannibal," last year Cristian impressed everyone by participating in the Easy 60 category and finishing third at the 23rd Winter Cup in Lonato del Garda. Now, at only 12 years old, he is ready to take the big leap and MAFRA is by his side in this wonderful adventure. His great desire to race and to strive for the best in the race has infected us from the first meeting. The 2019 season could not have started better, last March 17 Cristian climbed the top step of the 30th Spring Trophy, IAME Series Italy, which was run on the South Garda Karting circuit in Lonato del Garda.

Riccardo Tonali the traverse in the blood
Drifting is a specialty that originated in Japan in the 1970s, now has more than 200 international competitions and is spreading in Italy as well, thanks to an exceptional testimonial: Graziano Rossi, Valentino's legendary dad. As you well know, drifting consists of controlling a car on a curve, putting it sideways and avoiding going off the road. In order to reach competition levels, it is essential to have not inconsiderable skills, such as being able to control the car by keeping it sideways as long as possible.
In Italy we have one of the main European phenomena of this specialty. He was only 8 years old when he began to put very powerful Lancia Deltas and BMWs sideways, becoming the youngest drifter in Europe. His name is Riccardo Tonali, and now that he is a beauty of 16 years old, he is considered one of the best drivers in this specialty. It is with pride, therefore, that MAFRA has decided to link its brand to such a natural talent.
